Decorative paints
Jotun Decorative is a leading paint supplier to commercial buildings, public buildings and homes, serving both professionals and consumers through a large network of Jotun Multicolor centres.
As a global supplier of premium paints and coatings, we focus on four key market segments: decorative paints, protective coatings, marine coatings, and powder coatings. Within each segment, we achieve organic growth by making long-term strategic investments in local markets.
Building on local knowledge and competence is at the core of our business model. Jotun's global operations are regionally structured across Europe and Central Asia, Middle East, India and Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific region, Northeast Asia, and the Americas. That our regional and local operations enjoy a significant degree of autonomy is key to Jotun’s global success.
Across the larger organisation, our employees are united by Jotun's "Penguin Spirit" and the values of loyalty, care, respect, and boldness which underpin our approach to operations as well as to talent development.
Well-defined governance and corporate responsibility policies reflect our values. These policies also strengthen our business and our reputation, and underpin relationships with stakeholders.
Ensuring employee safety and well-being is one of our top priorities. It's enshrined in the Jotun HSEQ Management System, alongside our commitment to protecting the environment and delivering quality products.
In terms of reducing the environmental footprint of our operations, we work actively to meet defined goals across the entire product lifecycle. The Jotun GreenSteps programme is a structured and holistic approach to improve our environmental footprint. From carefully selecting raw materials, refining manufacturing processes to minimise energy consumption and waste, and ensuring proper use and recycling of our products.
Management systems in the Jotun Group are subject to a continuous improvement and a number of our companies are certificated in the following standards; Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001), Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001).
Our Jotun ISO Group Certification covers the three standards mentioned above and includes appendices showing which of our Jotun companies who are included.

We believe the diversity of the Jotun workforce is key to our competitive advantage because it drives creativity, and enables us to create teams aligned with the needs of the markets in which we operate and the customers we serve.
That's why we launched a comprehensive Diversity and Inclusion initiative in 2020, consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goal number 8 (Decent work and economic growth).
Jotun employees represent a wide range of nationalities, ethnicities, age ranges, and professional skills, and include men and women from 90 nations across more than 50 countries. Some 90 % of our employees work outside Norway.
We continuously build staff competencies through classroom and workplace training coordinated by the Jotun Academy.
By staying close to our customers, we can respond quickly to opportunities, creating specialised products such as pipeline coatings, intumescent coatings, and fast-curing coatings for building components.
Jotun is also a pioneering innovator in the growing market for powder coatings as a more environmentally friendly alternative to solvent-borne liquid coatings.
By providing us with local market insights, our global network of research and development centres enables us to quickly develop new products and solutions that meet local needs.
Our success stories span from renowned product brands and our Green Building Solutions to our Multicolor tinting system and the innovative Hull Skating Solutions.
Operating globally under a single brand name, Jotun has a consistent track record of organic growth.
With 41 factories located on all continents and a presence in 120 countries, we have a vast geographical footprint. That means slower growth or significant investment requirements in one market can be offset against higher-performing segments and markets. As a result, we're able to balance risk.
